Services

Diagnostic Testing

Results from diagnostic testing allow us to direct your health care. Some testing can be done in our office, while for others you will need to go to a specialist or another health care facility. We can perform the following tests in our office

Ultrasound of Joint Structures – used to identify injury of Ligaments, tendons, and Cartilage.

Bone Density Testing – Identifies the strength of your bones.

Laboratory Services

The laboratory services are provided by an outside vendor, CPL. The lab is available for prescriptions written by our office. The lab is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday from 8 am to 12 pm. The lab can be contacted directly by calling 361.882.4626. 

Pharmacy

We offer a full-service retail pharmacy staffed by a pharmacist with expertise in rheumatology medications. We assist patients with navigation of assistance programs to allow affordable prescriptions. Our pharmacy phone number is 361-561-3571.

Hospital Coverage

Corpus Christi Rheumatology Clinic providers work with the hospitalist to coordinate care when a patient under our care is admitted to the hospital.

Dr. Cindy Rodriguez-Silva, MD

Dr. Rodriguez-Silva joined Corpus Christi Rheumatology Clinic in January of 2024. She received her medical degree from the Universidad de Monterrey, Monterrey, Mexico. She completed her internal medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Paterson, New Jersey, and her rheumatology fellowship at Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Rodriguez-Silva is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Paul S. Bongat, DO, FACP, FACR

Dr. Paul Bongat is committed to providing patient-centered care. He advocates for a collaborative approach that empowers individuals with the knowledge needed to become partners in their care, and with multispecialty physicians who manage manifestations associated with rheumatic autoimmune conditions.

Dr. Bongat earned his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his residency training in internal medicine at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colorado. He pursued his passion for rheumatology at Larkin Hospital in South Miami, Florida.

Dr. Bongat is an active member of the Nueces County Medical Society and has served on the executive board. He is passionate about advancement in rheumatologic research studies and is the Principal Investigator for multiple clinical trial studies.

Dr. Paul Bongat is double board certified by the American College of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP).

Dr. Kevin Thompson, MD

Dr. Kevin Thompson is a board-certified Rheumatologist who specializes in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis, lupus, myositis, spondyloarthropathy, gout, and other auto-inflammatory conditions.

Dr. Thompson chose to specialize in rheumatology because he has seen firsthand how these treatments make life-changing improvements for patients. Rheumatology’s biologic medications are on the cutting edge of science and new therapies are constantly in the pipeline. More than anything, this field allows him to maintain close and long-lasting relationships with his patients.

Patients can expect a provider who will listen, be detail-oriented and always put the patient’s interest and safety first.

At the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Thompson completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned his Medical Degree. He enjoys traveling, food, spending time with family and friends and Oklahoma football.
